Ice sailing downtown

Posted by bopuc at February 17, 2006 03:32 PM

woah

The sidewalks are slicker than skating rinks.
The wind is gusting up to 78km/hr (50 miles an hour).

Unless you weight upwards of 120lbs and have spikes on your shoes, stay home.

Or, go the other extreme, rig up a sail of some sort (an open jacket will do) and have some fun...

Comments

While I didn't have spikes on my shoes, I'm much over that weight limit and was still blown around! Scary.

The winds were strong enough to knock out my Hydro for several hours. I actually had to wear my winter coat indoors. Brrrr...
