L'amour à la robote
Posted by bopuc at September 22, 2002 10:02 PM

Prévert is my favourit poet! My personal fav. is the one with the kid daydreaming, in class...they're doing math tables, and slowly everything dissolves away for him? My copy of Paroles is at home, but it's in there...
Sums up everything excellent about being a dreamer, couched in a nice critique of rote-based learning. Mmm...now I want to go home and curl up with that book again for a whle.

Hehehe. I can't remember how I came across that poem, but it just struck me at the time. (I first put it on a website of mine back in 1996: http://www.levendis.com/banter/banth.html , along with a really bad translation attempt.
Having come across it recently again, I realised how relevantly it can be interpreted as being today... and in my life. This, after the collapse of a relationship in part due to Instant Messaging...
Sigh...
